Gareth Moore

I have worked in Digital for nearly 25 years. Having been initiated into digital in the mid-nineties, when working as a Financial Accountant, I utilised the emerging power of PCs to simplify repetitive tasks. Since then the journey to becoming MD of a Design Consultancy has been one where many lessons have been learnt, many paths crossed and achievements realised.

Starting as an apprentice for a global textiles manufacturer, I spent my early years as a white collar worker on the factory floor. A total immersion in methodologies, efficiencies, quality and behavioural studies and needing to deliver all of the above in the face of global pressures as manufacturing moved out of the UK. As the pressures increased and UK manufacturing shrank, I moved into finance, initially as an Auditor then as a Financial Accountant. Leading to a vocation in IT, this took me into digital as part of the initial wave of the .com boom in the late nineties. When that imploded I moved clientside and worked as a developer for a number of years before contracting out, where I eventually met and started working with Alex in 2005.

From there we met Charlotte and Doug. Together as part of a team, we gained a huge amount of experience in moving a business from embryonic to mature. Taking on board significant learnings as markets changed, technologies developed, users evolved and delivery methodologies increased in complexity. During this period I moved from Senior Developer to Managing Director with a desire to create a business with a simplified proposition and with scalability.

When we embarked on the Cogworx journey, we were adamant in keeping a focus on sustainability, quality and satisfaction. Throughout all our projects we have delivered high levels of expertise, we have strategically assisted many organisations, people and teams. We work to our strengths and as a unit, I strongly believe we can’t be bettered. My role in this is to keep a consistently high level of delivery as an organisation. Whether this is recruitment of the right people, partnering with the right organisations, bidding for the right work or ensuring Cogworx retains a positive reputation that has my name on it.

I have a costly obsession for English made boots and American made jackets, consequently I endlessly scour the internet for elusive and rare finds. A footballer (defensive midfielder), a dad (to five), a lapsed off road biker (downhill), a keen amateur chef (I put things together as opposed to create) and a lover of the great outdoors. However, time permitting, you will normally find me in my garage gym, in front of a log fire and occasionally on the Xbox. I love winters and tolerate summer.
